Meet our Team:


Icing on the Cookie's one and only Birmingham native, Shelby Adams is originally from Mountain Brook. He attended Baylor University and eventually got his culinary degree from Scottsdale Culinary Institute. Since then he has worked in New Orleans and in some of Birmingham's best restaurants, such as Hot and Hot Fish Club, Standard Bistro and Bottega. Shelby is extremely excited to cross over from restaurant life to bakery, creating the smells and flavors reminiscent of his grandmother's kitchen. He hopes to make you feel like a kid again when you bite into one of our treats. Shelby is pleased to bring his greatest joy of cooking alongside his wife and friends, and will continue to sport his BAMA pride despite being outnumbered 3 to 1 by UGA fans.

Katie Adams is originally from Perry, Georgia and graduated from The University of Georgia with a degree in Speech Communications. She has since worked for the UGA Alumni Association and currently for the UAB School of Health Professions in a development role. Katie also has a zest for community service, serving on the Junior League and the Magic Moments Junior Board. She not only brings creativity, organization and solid business sense to Icing on the Cookie, but also a sincere intrigue to help customers add a special touch to their events and celebrations. Most importantly, Katie is looking forward to having her husband around on nights and weekends, who, in her words, delivers a mean “food coma" with his cooking skills!

Anna Cate Little is originally from Macon, Georgia and received a degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia. Her publishing career began in magazines, but she has since dabbled in corporate marketing, custom layout and design, nonfiction book writing and just about anything else that involves creativity and the written word. While Anna Cate has fond childhood memories of cookie-decorating parties with her family, friends, and stuffed animals, it’s the challenge of stretching that cozy, kitchen setting into a full-blown business that excites her. This just happens to coincide with her biggest career move yet—becoming a mother to a beautiful baby girl.

Matt Little was born and raised in the big city of Atlanta, Georgia, and also received a business degree from the University of Georgia. Fresh out of college, he was recruited by the distinguished Birmingham-based insurance brokerage firm, McGriff, Seibels and Williams. Matt quickly learned he had a knack for business/insurance/finance, and has climbed his way to becoming a top producer within his company. Here at Icing on the Cookie, it goes without saying Matt’s business and finance expertise is invaluable in keeping our business running smoothly. When he’s not working, Matt is either gardening, golfing, home-improving, entertaining friends, traveling, or transitioning from world’s biggest UGA fan to world’s best daddy.
